Emergency Contact Information
Medical/Police/Fire - Rice University Police patrols all of our buildings and usually responds faster than Houston Police. Contact them at (713) 348-6000 or call 911. For medical emergencies you can contact Rice EMT at (713) 348-6000 or you can call 911. For fire or smoke you must evacuate the building immediately and call 911, and after that please notify RUPD at (713) 348-6000.
Maintenance - For maintenance emergencies (water leak, air conditioning problem, gas leak, electricity problems, etc.) after our office has closed for the evening, please contact the Rice University Central Plant at 713-348-4095.
Other Issues - Resident Assistants (RAs) are on-call after hours to respond to emergencies such as lockouts or late-night move-ins. To page an RA, please use the phone number for your building:

Please note that a $20 service charge will apply to all lockout requests after the office has closed for the day. In addition, this service should not be used for non-emergency concerns, such as picking up packages
after the office is closed. Our RA’s will gladly assist you with other
concerns during normal office hours.
